　　　　　資源共享一直是圖司館界的理想，而各項館際合作的推動正是落實此一理念的具體 表現，達成互通有無、相互支援的境界。一般而言，圖書館界是經由聯盟的成立，藉以凝聚 共識，推展各項合作事宜。密著網際網路與電子資源的應用，雨本圖酩館聯盟又再度活絡起 來，但是臺灣圖書館界探討有關聯盟的文獻卻十分罕見。本文研究目的系以圖書館界資源共 享的發展歷史為基礎，探討圖書館聯盟的演變與發展，進一步藉以此較美國與臺灣圖書館聯 盟的現況與差異。文共分為詞彙釋疑、資源共享的歷史回顧與分析探討、聯盟的發展沿革與 方式、成立聯盟的動機、發展模式、必備條件與運作流程、聯盟的型態、關系、組織結構與 運作方式、聯盟的成功基本要素、危機、挑戰及趨勢、相關議題及結論。
　　　　　Resource sharing is an ideal goal for libraries and is achieved by many cooperative tasks and activities. In general consortium is a key ground to achieve a commonsense of resource sharing within libraries. With advancement of Internet and use of electronic resources, consortium becomes a hot issue again around the world libraries. The purpose of this paper is to take a review and comparison of consortia developments and trends both in USA and Taiwan. The paper consisits of eight components as following: term's definition, history of resource of resource sharing and consortium both in American and Taiwan libraries, motivations, developed models, requirements, success factors, challenges and trends for consortium. Finally, rights and obligations of membership, funding support, archive and permenant access, evaluation concerning about comsortium, and pricing of electronic resources are also discussed in the paper.
