"Ton Tu Ji", writton by Qing Xi Daoism Priest of Ming Dynasty, is a long magic novel about DaMo. The author successfully reveals Daoism religious marolity through characters and main plots, expresses entertaining needs in dialogues. How ever, he fails in combining both: religious morality and entertainment needs. The failure is partly because of the contradictory nature of both; and partly because of the author's immature creativity. This essay will discuss a dilemma a Ming magic novelist because when he tries to mix both contradictory essences together.
