　　　　　近年來有關每人所得和每人醫療支出關係之研究探討係以跨國橫剖面或經緯資料 (panel data)為依據，而所的的研究均使用需求函數來建立模型。我們響應Hansen和 King(1996，1998)的呼籲，利用供需模型及應用共整合方法來重新檢定兩變數間的關係。以臺灣1964年至1997年的總醫療支出為例，所得到的結果為實質所得彈性小於一。此結果與 Parkin等（1987）, Culyer (1990)和Karatzas (1992)等學者的論點相呼應，亦即醫療支出大部分以「治療」原因居多，而非「關心」之因所造成。
