This study aims to discuss four topics: (1) a brief history of Huang, Zong-Xi (2) Huang’s Motives to write Ming Yi Dai Fang Lu. (3) Historical perspectives reflected on Ming Yi Dai Fang Lu (4) laws and decrees drew up by Huang in Ming Yi Dai Fang Lu. First, a brief history of Huang was discussed in order to analyze the reasons that Huang devoted to political affairs and the court at this sacrifice of life. Second, Huang’s motives to write Ming Yi Dai Fang Lu, and the title and themes of the book were examined. Then, based on the previous discussion, the twenty-one chapters of Ming Yi Dai Fang Lu were thoroughly examined. After analyzing these chapters, it is found that three particular historical perspectives can be concluded from Huang’s Ming Yi Dai Fang Lu: “sound ruling systems are prior to admirable talents,” “promote the political and ruling systems in the Three Dynasties (Xia, Shang and Zhou Dynasties),” and “the decline of the Ming Dynasty resulted form the lack of ruling systems.” Furthermore, the researcher investigated Ming Yi Dai Fang Lu and attempted to analyze the old ruling systems implemented in and before the Three Dynasties and promoted by Huang, the new revolutionary ruling systems proposed by Huang based on old ones in the Three Dynasties and promoted by Huang, the new revolutionary ruling systems proposed by Huang based on old ones in the Three Dynasties, and the systems suggested by Huang according to historical lessons learned from past dynasties till the Ming dynasty. To sum up, the discussion of the four topics provided rational critique with objective point of view for the values of Ming Yi Dai Fang Lu.
