本文著重設施蝴蝶蘭生產在經濟面的分析。蝴蝶蘭生產採用設施栽培方式,其溫室規模由最小0.1公頃到大於2公頃,在生產者間的差異很大。由於蝴蝶蘭生產是一種高生物科技與資本密集的產業,因此其生產的獲利性與效率皆很高。由30個樣本農場資料顯示,平均每農場的總毛收入為11.61百萬元,平均農場所得為3.66百萬元,農場經營的益-本比與農家所得率分別為0.40%與27.18%,平均每農場總生產成本也很高,達7.96百萬元。因素生產力以及資本與勞動間的替代彈性皆很高。臺灣蝴蝶蘭是屬於資本使用型技術的生產型態。
Economic aspects of phalaenopsis production under protected facilities are presented in this paper. The size of greenhouse or protected facilities of phalaenopsis production varies significantly ranging from less than 0.1 hectare to more than 2 hectares per farm. By using higher bio-technology and capital intensive cultivation, profitability and efficiecy of phalaenopsis production are very high; total gross receipts per farm is NT$ 11.61 million, and farm income per farm is NT$ 3.66 million. The benefit-cost ratio and rate of farm income per farm are 0.40 and 27.18% respectively. Total costs of production per farm are also very high, reaching NT$ 7.96 million. Factor productivities and elasticity of substitution between capital and labor in phalaenopsis farming are very high. Capital-using technology has been considerably utilized in phalaenopsis farming in Taiwan.
