Fire science is a multi-dimensional one. Important research regarding fire science at least includes fire occurrence, fire spread, design and maintenance of fire detection and suppression systems. All of these involve uncertainty. Therefore, probabilistic nature and system reliability of fire safety design are important and should be carefully considered. This study introduces the basic theory of reliability, hazard rate function and the failure cases, discusses several system designs such as series systems, parallel systems, standby system, shard load system and complex systems and analyzes relevant examples. Not only Conceptual discussion but also quantitative analyses are investigated in this research. Findings, of this study could provide some useful comments for administrative unit, fire management, fire design and device maintenance sectors.
