本篇文章的目的是探討急診暴力對護理人員的衝擊。文中探討急診室的環境、施暴者的特性、護理人員專業因素與急診暴力的相關性，並針對這三項原因提出預防、發生時以及發生暴力後的處理措施。急診暴力的發生對護理人員會造成生理、心理與情緒上廣泛性的影響，其代價是無法計算，雖然急診暴力是現存的問題，但絕對可以預防。醫院及行政主管有義務爭取足夠經費，以提供護理人員安全的工作環境。在人員訓練的過程中，需教導能確認引發暴力的危險因子以及運用正確的溝通技巧來預防或處理暴力發生。行政主管在暴力發生後對人員所提供的支持、協助及專業的諮商，皆能協助被施暴護理人員及早走出暴力事件的陰影。

　　　　　The discussion focused on the impact of violence on nursing staff in the emergency department (ED). By reviewing the ED environment, assault characteristics, and the role of nursing professional in ED, the factors associated with violence were presented. These factors were then put in perspective to explore the function of nursing professionals in preventing and managing these scenarios of violence. Violence not only caused physical or psychological injury or trauma, but also broadly led to long-term adverse effects to nurses. It was a prevalent, but preventable, public problem. Hospitals administrators must provide adequate security systems and a comprehensive trainging and support service for all ED nurses. As the violent incidence continues to occur and its potential threat to the ED nurses, the safety of ED nurses should emerge as a critical concern of the administration.
