隨著後PC時代的來臨,資訊家電(information appliance,IA),成為全球資訊產業下一波發展的希望所在。各種IA資訊家電設備之研發與製造熱潮方興未艾,而在這波IA熱潮中,又以手持式裝置(head-held device),如:個人數位助理(personal digital assistant, PDA),口袋型電腦(pocket PC)之發展最被接受與看好。經由無線網路,搭配具有強大計算能力和多媒體功能之微處理晶片(micro-processor chip),讓手持式裝置擁有多媒體發展環境、圖形化使用者介面、網路瀏覽功能和行動通訊、高速計算等能力。尤其值得一提的是,手持式裝置輕薄短小,易於隨身攜帶,而且價格也遠低於一般個人電腦和筆記型電腦。此項特色讓手持式裝置在未來的資訊發展中具有絕對的優勢。 傳統的電腦輔助教學系統,都是建構在個人電腦或筆記型電腦的環境上,此種輔助教學的方式受限於電腦設備體積太大、攜帶不便和每台電腦單價又過於偏高等缺點。此外,在實習實驗方面,傳統的電腦輔助教學系統其教學內容均屬靜態的形式,無法充分表現出實習實驗的動態互動過程,也因此造成傳統的電腦輔助教學系統在實習實驗方面之推行成效不彰。本計劃擬在伺服器、實習實驗設備和手持式裝置(或個人電腦)三者之間建構壹套資訊流通模式。基於此一資訊流通模式,我們將在伺服器上開發一套有助於培養學生「數位訊號處理」技術創造力之「電子電路」實習實驗模組,學習者可以使用個人電腦透過網際網路;或是使用手持式裝置透過無線網路操控遠端的伺服器,從事一系列和電子電路相關之實習實驗。藉由此套「虛擬實驗室」(Virtual Laboratory,VL)之建立,可以培養並提升學生「數位訊號處理」等相關課程之學習效率與技術創造力。
In this proposal, a computer-aided instruction (CAI) system based on the hand-held devices (such as personal digital assistant or pocket PC) is designed and implemented for the cultivation and promotion of students' technological creativity in digital signal processing (DSP). This proposal aims at exploring the cultivation of technological creativity for the students who major in the electrical and electronic engineering and some related fields. It is known that practices always make perfect. We are convinced that a friendly and iteratively remote experimental environment not only attracts students' interests in E-learing but also promotes their technological creativity. Thus, we intend to design and implement a virtual laboratory (VL) for real-time electrical & electronic experimentation in a remote-access manner through internet, a direct-access manner through intranet or wireless communication for handheld devices.
