The purpose of this study is to investigate the contents, costs and uses of digital collections in academic libraries. Questionnaires and interviews methods were used to conduct the study, and SPSS were used for data analysis. The results reveal that the common types of library digital collections are: online and CD-ROM databases, e-journals, and e-books. The subjects covered are: social sciences, general, pure sciences, art and humanities, and engineering. Data collected over the last two years reveal that library spending on digital collections is on the rise. The survey results indicate that the usage rates of and user responses about the library digital collections are satisfactory, and the professional role of librarians is affirmed by users. However, there are still many potential users that librarians need to exploti, and the information organization, user training, and propagenda of library digital collections are also needed to be carried out.
