貝多芬所作的三十二首鋼琴奏鳴曲,分別創作於西元1795-1822 年間。每一首奏鳴曲,無論在創作特性或鋼琴技巧上,皆有其獨特之處,不但見證著作曲家貝多芬之音樂成長歷程,更見證了奏鳴曲之歷史蛻變。儘管最後一首貝多芬鋼琴奏鳴曲之出版至今已近兩百年,他們仍是鋼琴大師、學者、教師及學生所不斷學習及研究的對象。尤其是中、晚期之奏鳴曲,更是常見於各類研究、考試、比賽、或音樂會上。其中最負盛名及最常出現之奏鳴曲當屬中期之「華德斯坦」奏鳴曲及「熱情」奏鳴曲。 本研究擬探討、剖析貝多芬中期鋼琴經典名作--「熱情」奏鳴曲,將深入探究貝多芬在此首奏鳴曲中,如何再度掙脫早期保守的奏鳴曲模式,以嶄新的創作手法,繼續開展奏鳴曲的新境界。首先,將簡述「熱情」奏鳴曲之歷史背景及特色,再對每一樂章作逐一討論,在曲式分析部分,對該樂章作一簡扼之樂曲分析。曲式分析後,特別加進一段演奏提要,其中先提供幾個不同文獻、樂譜版本所建議之速度,包括貝多芬學生徹爾尼於1840 年間出版之文獻及徹爾尼於1850 年間由Simrock 出版貝多芬鋼琴奏鳴曲版本中建議之速度、Ignaz Moscheles 版本、畢羅(Hans von Bülow )版本以及Artur Schnabel 版本之速度。除了演奏速度外,並將針對鋼琴彈奏上所需面對的問題逐一提出,並進而提供可能解決之道,期盼藉此給予演奏者更具體之幫助。
Beethoven’s thirty-two piano sonatas are such cornerstones of piano literature that no serious pianist fails to include at least a few of them in his or her repertory. Their significance is evident in the extended coverage they receive in virtually every historical and theoretical survey. Besides the survey literature, a great number of publications have been devoted to the sonatas. Many of them provide pianists with invaluable information which could prove essential to a better performance of these masterpieces. The purpose of this paper is to investigate, after two hundred years, Beethoven’s “Appassionata” Sonata, a masterpiece from the composer’s middle period. Following a brief historical background of the work, analyses of the three movements, performance problems and possible solutions are provided.
