The purpose of this research was to investigate the differences in line styles when elementary school students draw with computer mouse and with paint brush, and the research has come up with the conclusions as follows: ( 1 ) In terms of the smoothness of lines, students perform better when they draw realistic subjects with traditional painting pens than with the computer medium, but there is no significant difference between these two media when they draw imaginary subjects. (2) The subject of drawing is the most important factor that influences line forms - the realistic drawing subject has more expressions of line form than the imaginary drawing subject. (3) Except the "winding line" the two media are consistent in terms of the concentration of line forms. (4) The realistic drawing subject has better expression of line fineness than the imaginary drawing subject, but there is no significant difference between the two media in terms of their expression of line fineness. ( 5 ) Regardless of drawing subjects, the computer medium is superior to drawing pens in terms of the expression of line color shade.
