本文指出如何在現代社會中證成社會工作價值的問題，對社會工作社群構成重要的挑戰。本文試圖透過麥金泰對現代社會道德困境及泰勒對“意義事態”及“共通意義”的分析，揭露現存社會工作價值的討論在價值理論上的一些盲點，並作為進一步探索社會工作價值的性質，作一點鬆土的工作。最後，本文將就社會工作價值的反思跟後設理論的關係作一點初步、探索性的分享。
