　　　　　前南斯拉兼聯邦之各共和國：史洛凡尼亞、克羅埃西亞、波士尼亞，是經過衝突戰爭而脫離聯邦獨立，然馬其頓之獨立，卻極其平和要合法對民主，未造成流血戰爭。可是馬其頓國家獨立之承認，卻遭到希臘之打壓及未受到國際社會特別的關注。本文就馬其頓為國際承認之奮鬥過程，試機其建初期之外交政策的轉型、發展、推行與成就，作一番之探究，或可供吾國之參考。

　　　　　Although Macedonia became a new independent state, it did not take part in the Yugoslav conflicts of 1991-1995 which involved all the other republics-Slovenia, Croatia ad Bosnia-Herzegovina; by no action or measure did it contribute to the crisis and dispersion of Yugoslavia. On the contrary, it simply dissociated itself from the Federation-peacefully, legally and democratically. But Macedonia was not recognized by the European Community/Union nor the international community under pressure from Greece. The leaders in the Macedonian government struggled for their country’s international recognition during 1991-1996. We will examine in depth Macedonian foreign policy and development in the course of emancipation form the former Yugoslav Federation.
