To discuss human rights issues, it must be in light of the world scale, consider the promotion of human dignity, and take into account the existing social relationship and the requirements for social development and happiness. The above is one of the objectives for the establishment of the United Nations. Hence, Article 1 (3) of the United Notions Charters specifically provides that the purposes of the United Nations include “to achieve international cooperation in solving international problems of an canonic, social, cultural, or humanitarian character, and in promoting and encouraging respect for human rights and for fundamental freedoms for all without distinction as to race, sex, language, or religion.” Under such proposition, all primary and supplemental organizations mentioned in Article (1) and (2) of the Untied Nations Charters have missions to act for protection of human rights. All members of the United Nations also take responsibility through joining or ratifying international documents in relevant areas, and equally fulfill their obligations for respect for human rights along with the recognition of human rights in international society. From this aspect, the Untied Nations have played an important role in the field of international human rights protection. Based on its standpoint human rights and fundamental freedom, the Untied Nations will set up drafting procedures of international human right standards within its organizations, and push for acceptance and implementation of relevant international documents. This Article will first focus on the setting-up of drafting procedures of international human right standards, and further discuss various international human right implementation mechanism established by the United Nations Charters. In addition, different international human right protection institutions set up by international human right documents sponsored by the United Nations, as well as relevant procedures and implementation by such institutions with respect to human right issues will also be discussed. By doing so, the Article aims to elucidate the relationship between the Untied Nations and international human right protection systems.
