本研究的主要目的在於進行描述性的個案研究,呈現英國一位小學教師的課程評鑑經驗及做法,並析理個案教師課程評鑑與學校及國家脈絡間的關係,與國內的教育工作人員分享,以為實務上的參照。 在方法上,本研究採個案研究法,選取倫敦附近一所獨立中小學(Independent school)的小學教師為研究對象,探討其評鑑2004年第二學期的英文寫作課程的歷程與做法。研究中以教室觀察、訪談及文件分析為主要的資料蒐集方法,以了解個案教師的課程評鑑經驗與做法。 研究結果發現,個案教師對於課程評鑑理念與實踐之覺知程度高,進行教室課程評鑑活動的頻率也高。其課程評鑑的目的在於課程目標達成與否的檢視及改善實務。在方法的運用上,以便利性為主,在系統性上仍待提昇。
The main purpose of this case study was to illustrate the experience of curriculum evaluation of a teacher who teaches Year 5 students in an independent junior school in London. The major method, used in the study were classroom observation, interviews, and document analysis. The results of the study showed that the teacher was quite clear about what curriculum evaluation was entailed and how classroom evaluation was carried out regularly. The purpose of curriculum evaluation for the teacher appears to be the combination of two purposes - control (from the national level) and action (initiated by the teacher). The ways of collecting information and data were still unsystematic, but given the complexity of the classroom context, they seemed to be quite understandable.
