本文主要目的係透過組織文化的觀點,探討企業成功推行六標準差品質活動的組織文化特徵。組織文化為組織共通的價值觀、共有的想法及共同的行為模式,回顧推行六標準差領域之相關文獻,我們發現大部分之研究重點均偏重在該方法技術運用層面的探討,針對組織文化差異所造成的衝擊,及探討適合六標準差推行之組織文化特徵仍相當缺乏。因此本研究從組織文化的觀點,探討最適六標準差品質活動的組織文化特徵模式。為達成此目的,本研究首先根基於組織文化理論架構,並應用組織文化量表,對實行六標準差的企業進行組織文化量測,再藉由多變量統計方法將個案公司不同文化特徵與六標準差實施成效進行差異分析。根據資料分析結果顯示,推行六標準差成效最佳的企業,其組織文化特徵與其他個案企業有顯著差異。該研究結果所代表的涵義為組織文化的差異對六標準差的推行成效有顯著的影響。此外,我們將研究結果做進一步的歸納,最後提出成功推行六標準差品質活動的組織文化特徵。
The objective of this paper attempts to examine the characteristics of organizational culture for successfully implementing Six Sigma. Organizational culture indicates members in an organization have common value, belief, and behaviors. According to the past literature, most of the previous studies involving Six Sigma have been focused on methodological issue only, few studies have been conducted from the social behavioral aspect. However, Cameron, Freeman and Mishra (1991) claimed that it is a crucial issue whenever an organization performs change management. In this paper, four cases were surveyed and deep-interviewed for their implementation of Six Sigma programs. Maull’s scale (2001) was used to measure the characteristics of their organizational culture. The results revealed that there is positive correlation between the performance of implementing Six Sigma and organizational cultural characteristics. Based the research findings, a set of organizational cultural characteristics were finally proposed for successfully implementing a Six Sigma program.
