防衛狀況（Verteidigungsfall）為德國基本法及國防等相關法律對於德國遭受武力（Waffengewalt）攻擊時聯邦政府依憲法程序所做出之宣告。德國國防軍習慣上以「V狀況」（V-Fall）稱之。原則上僅適用於外部緊急狀態（äußer Notstand）發生，而不適用內部緊急狀態（innerer Notstand），例外為具規模性恐怖攻擊活動，亦可擬制為防衛狀況而包括在內，如類似於美國911恐怖攻擊事件，自國外遭受劫持的客機，其目的顯然朝向德國重要設施如核電廠衝撞等情事。現行德國成文法中查無「戰時」（Kriegszeit）或「於戰時」（im Krieg）、「戰爭狀態」（Kriegszustand）或「戰爭狀況」（Kriegsfall）之用語，絕大多數均ㄧ致使用「防衛狀況發生時」（Verteidigungsfall）。

The State of Defense（Verteidigungsfall） is a declaration during the situation that the federal territory under attack by armed force in accordance with the Basic Law of Germany and related laws. The Federal Defense Force of Germany generally call Verteidigungsfall V-Fall. The State of Defense can only be applied to the External Emergency（äußer Notstand）, in principle not applied to the Internal Emergency（innerer Notstand）, but the terrorist attacks that use of weapons of mass destruction is an exception. Such as the Terrorist Attacks of 11 September in the United States that the hijacked commercial passenger jet airliners from foreign country its obvious crash into important facilities: a nuclear power plant, for instance, was deemed to be the State of Defense. The words “Time of War”（Kriegszeit）, “in War”（im Krieg）, “State of War”（Kriegszustand）, “ Warstatus”（Kriegsfall）regulate not in statutes of Germany. That regulate almost the word “ State of Defense”（Verteidigungsfall） in place of “Time of War”（Kriegszeit）in german laws.
