本期有多篇兒童發展與早期療育的文章，其中的核心問題之ㄧ就是家長的角色、功能與行為的在早期療育歷程中的參與。現在與以往早療狀況稍有不同的是，以前是缺乏或沒有資源，現在甚至於有疏忽、中斷或停止服務的現象，當然這不一定是家長的問題。本篇文章作者將由種系與物種發生的演化歷程觀點說明人類與大自然相互依存的關係。再者會以”三腦說”來談人類社會性智商的神經學基礎，並從遺傳物質的角度來陳述社會性智商的物質基礎及其潛藏的親職意涵。其後再依序介紹親職、親職壓力、親職歷程與兒童發展。最後作者會以親職的臨床意涵與發想來與大家一起思考，目前嬰幼兒、兒童與青少年時期之相關社會問題及其可能的因應思維。
Many of articles in this Volume focus on child development and early intervention for children with developmental delay. One of the core concerns is parental role, function and their behavior in participation of intervention process. Once, we have very limited early intervention resources in Taiwan, but now, some services was neglected, disconnected or stopped, which is not necessary due to parental decision. Through evolutional process of phylogenetic and ontogenetic aspect, author will explain close relationship between human being and environment. Then, he will explain neuro-genetic basis of social cognition and its relationship to parenting through theory of “triune brain”, and molecular biology. Parenting, parental stress, parenting process and child development will also be reviewed. Finally, through discussion of clinic prospective of parenting, the author will conclude some possible solutions for the present social problems in infancy, childhood and adolescency.
