電子檔案的價值在於應用，然而因應電腦軟硬體設備快速更迭的現況，適度的清理與銷毀機制規範，可以避免儲存空間、維護成本以及不當刪除的困擾。本文逐一探討美國、英國、加拿大及澳洲之作法，歸納出幾點建議，供機關與後續相關研究之參考。

Abstract The more usage, the more value of electronic records. Owing to the rapid change of computer hardware and software, a suitable mechanism of disposition and destruction can avoid the problems from storage space, maintenance cost and improper deletion. This study investigates those guidances of disposition and destruction in US, British, Canadian, and Australian governments respectively. Accordingly, several suggestions are been made for our government agencies for further reference.
