We shall start with the clarification of some basic concepts, such as strategy, national strategy, national strategy, and defense strategy. Efforts will be made to identity the status of Strategic Studies within the field of International Relations and to trace its development. We will then look into theories and approaches that may be appropriated. We will endeavor to examine various options toward peace. Finally, we will offer some policy choices for Taiwan’s survival.
