"New approach Japanese intermediate course" Section 1 has the following sentence."日本の中華料理のお店ではカウンターやテーブルは赤です。でも、それが青だったら、きっと食欲がなくなるでしょう。". The Chinese-speaking Learners of Japanese translated this sentence into with"如果那是青色的話, ...". Due to both Japanese and Chinese use Kanji, it could be affected by its native language and translate Japanese Kanji to Chinese Characters directly. Anyway, what is exact in this case? <green >?< indigo blue >?< blue> ? As translation incorrect, it is likely to result in misunderstanding, and it is very difficult for the author to correctly express the concept or meaning to the readers. This paper try to extract the color words from Miyazawa Kenji's work『銀河鉄道の夜』and its Chinese translation editions which published in Taiwan, and compare them. Whether these color words have according to the dictionary definition translates(「赤」=〈紅〉) or not? Are those translations right? Are there other suitable translations? Japanese-Chinese dictionary is also a necessary tool for the person engaged in translation. If there is translation more suitable than a dictionary, we have like to use the outcome for future dictionary revision.
