運動免疫學(Exercise Immunology)是近年來運動科學研究中的新興領域之一。先前的研究顯示,運動訓練和免疫功能之間,存有劑量-反應(dose-response)的關係,運動負荷(運動強度、頻率、持續時間)過高或運動不足,過與不及都會影響到免疫功能的正常運作,長期從事規律且適度的運動會提升免疫功能,增加對病原體的抵抗能力,但是從事高強度的運動,卻可能使免疫功能受到抑制。另外,有少數的研究發現,從事連續數天密集性的運動訓練並刻意限制熱量的攝取,會使免疫功能受到更大的衝擊;而以體重區分量級的運動員,為了獲得體型上的優勢,往往於賽前貿然實施急速減重,在此減重過程中,使用熱處理、反複密集性的增加運動訓練量、過度的節食以及水分的嚴苛限制等因素,均有可能會導致生理疲勞的連續累積,以及衍生神經、內分泌激素和代謝系統的紊亂,進而干擾到人體免疫功能的正常運作,截至目前,有關這方面的研究,數量仍相當有限。因此,本文目的:旨在闡述運動訓練、急速減重與人體免疫功能三者之間的關聯,以提供運動科學界與教練、選手們,在學術上之參考依據。
