This study aims to develop a procedure of natural slope and man-made slope safety assessment and investigation for hillside buildings. Comprehensive review of safety and hazard susceptibility of hillside buildings in Caoling piece (CEPD version of the 1/25,000 topographic maps) by using environmental-geological disaster map, taking Jhong-Ping Village as an example. The major review of the surrounding buildings have landslide, landslip, debris flow, and other items. The procedure provides easy understanding on environmental-geological disaster and man-made slopes safety of the surrounding buildings, so that the buildings could have more clear concept on how to minimize the damage, preparedness for disasters. Through management strategies development, hoping to see this study could help hillside buildings to resist geological disasters, reduces the damage of geological disasters, and enhance the overall endurance ability.
