歷來學者對殷墟甲骨中的「□」或作「□」一般隸定為「□」，然而對餌之釋義有不同說法。本文通過花園莊東地甲骨中的幾條新材料，輔以出土器物之照片、圖版，將文字的考釋配合考古的角度，綜合審查，發現「□」字與「□」字可能為異體關係，並經由新的出土材料，我們可以推論「□」是屬於古代的玉類的器物，隸定為「□」讀作「珥」。雖目前仍無法將文物與「珥」字相對應上，但「珥」為耳飾應無太大問題，又因耳飾配戴連於耳，又字形上與繩線相關，故引申為「連」、「聯」。文末兼討論與耳飾品相關的「玦」之器形與可能的字形，作為未來可再探討的一個方向。
