The purpose of this research intends to analyze the performance index of the three-staged techniques employed by the excellent male players in 2010 Asian Game and to study the predictions on which the three-staged techniques was applied. The research targets are the 9 excellent male table tennis players who attended the 2010 Asian Game. The research scope includes those games in the Asian Game. The research tool is the three-staged techniques analysis chart and based on the observation method, the data collected are analyzed to authenticate the research assumption by three-part skill analysis in table tennis、stepwise regression.The findings are as follows: 1. As for the incidence for the three-staged techniques used by those excellent players in the Asian Game, the scoring rate: angle shot as "failed" pointer, angle shot as "pass" pointer, stalemate ball as "good" pointer, in terms of usage: angle shot and angle shot segments for "pass" pointer, while the ball was "failing" pointer. 2.The best methods to predict the performance of the excellent male players in the Asian Game by using the three-staged techniques are the scoring rate for the stage in serving the ball to attack, the scoring rate for the stage in receiving the serve to attack and the scoring rate for the standoff stage.
