This article was to describe a facial necrotizing fasciitis with skin graft patients nursing experience in intensive care unit. Based on Gordon's 11 functional health patterns assessment from March 24 to April 30, 2009, the health problems being as ineffective airway clearance, impaired skin integrity and uncertainty. Through the active care and companionship, a good interactive relationship was established with the patient. Appropriate nursing interventions were implemented to alleviate physical discomfort and policy was provided as a guidance to enhance self-care skills. All these enabled the patient to be successfully transferred out of ICU and eventually discharged from the hospital with appropriate health cognition and attitude. The unique nature of this care process and experience can serve as a reference when providing clinical nursing care.
