Purpose of Research: To analyze the tactics on the men's doubles in badminton games. Subjects of Research: The quarter finalists of YONEX Chinese Taipei Gold Grand Prix 2009. Method of Research: Analysis of the full video recording from the game and the information provided by the event organizer. Results: (1) the tactical analysis chart developed by this study has good reliability and validity; (2) the use of overall tactical types has significant difference (p < .05); (3) the tactical type adopted by each player has significant difference (p < .05); (4) the overall tactical types have significant correlation with the game outcome (p < .05), Cramer'V coefficient = 0.31; (5) the tactical types used in the final, semi-final, and quarter-final games do not have significant difference, but the tactical types have significant correlation with the game outcome (p < .05), Cramer'V coefficient = 0.36, 0.27, and 0.35. Conclusions: The eight tactical types developed by this study are suitable for men's doubles in badminton game, and can predict the relationship with game outcome.
