Meng-liang Liu is one of the first generation post-war literati from Mainland China. He had participated in Jibo (poetry creation) activities in Taipei Ying-Club, Chiayi Chia-Club, Beigang Fenjin Ying-Club, Taitung Baosang Ying-Club, etc. His Chinese poetry not only demonstrates the adjustment between the migrated literati and literature, but also the life of those literati after the war. This paper introduces the biography and relationship of Liu, as well as the implication of his Chinese poetry, including difficulties, efforts and respectable poetic style. This paper argues that Liu’s optimism in facing hardship and difficulties makes him a role model among post-war migrated literati who are known for their integrity.
