追撞事故為道路上常見的交通事故類型,在號誌化路口中,由於環境複雜與時相轉換的影響,恐導致追撞風險的提升,將對路口安全造成危害。本研究係以高雄市政府警察局交通大隊所提供之高雄市 94年道路交通事故資料為依據,除分析追撞事故概況及原因外,並利用羅吉斯迴歸模式篩選造成號誌化路口追撞事故的顯著變數。結果顯示,追撞事故為號誌化路口主要的事故類型之ㄧ;另在 30歲以下的駕駛人、有快慢車道分隔、三岔路口、四岔路口的情境,有較高發生追撞事故的傾向。因此,若能從道路幾何環境、交通控制、駕駛者特性等方面,來瞭解號誌化路口追撞事故的特性,期能供作主管單位或相關改善措施的參考,進而達到降低此類事故發生的目的。
Rear-end collisions are one of popular traffic accidents. At signalized intersections, with complex traffic environment and signal phase change, the risk of rear-end collisions tends to raise and threat safety. The study took accidents data of year 2005 from the Kaohsiung City Police Department Traffic Division as subjects. These data were analyzed and Logistic Regression was applied for identifying the significant risk factors. It revealed that rear-end collisions are among the major types at signalized intersections. With age below 30 years old, separation, tree-leg and four-leg intersections, the risk of rear-end collisions were higher. Therefore, the study concluded the problem of rear-end collisions at signalized intersections may be improved from road geometry, traffic control, and drivers aspects.
