Jhu Heng, an official from Ming Dynasty, was assigned to govern the Jhao Yang Lake which located in Weishan County of Jining in the Chinese province of Shandong. He conducted the lake as a detention basin aiming for buffering the overflow of the Huanghe River. He also dug a new canal at the east side of Jao Yang Lake, named Nan Yang Sin River, which had long-term influence upon the future. Nan Yang Sin River had also ushered in a new era of the separation of Cao River and Huanghe River.
