In this study, the study area is the watershed of Qianghuangkeng in Nanhua, Tainan. The Qianghuangkeng watershed was destroyed by catastrophic debris flow in 2008 Typhoon Kalmaegi and Morakot 2009. After the debris flow disaster, disaster prevention facilities were built, such as comb dam, submerged dam and the construction of regional drainage for eliminating from the repeated debris flow disasters. This study presents the results of numerical simulations on the characteristics of debris flow. The two-dimensional numerical simulation model FLO-2D and Debris 2D are applied to the simulation of debris flow. The result shows the difference of flow depth and deposition area between FLO-2D model and Debris 2D model.
