In recent years, China and South Korea relations have advanced side by side in mutual political trust, economic and trade cooperation and cultural exchanges, showing the best period since diplomatic relationship was established in 1992. The presidents have regular meetings and kept in contact closely, keeping the orientation of China-ROK relations firmly in control. It is marked by China-ROK FTA signing and South Korea joining AIIB as founding member; the China-ROK win-win economic and trade cooperation continues to make amazing breakthroughs; military and cultural exchanges have also achieved development. These breakthroughs are not only due to the geographical proximity, cultural affinity, close trade ties, but also to the growing demands and foreign policy interlinks. The development of the China-ROK relations is making increasing contributions to the peaceful development of both countries, Northeast Asia, Asia and even to the world. Looking back at the bilateral relations since diplomatic relations was established in the framework of South Korea’s balance between Sino-US relations, the outlook of new breakthroughs in China-ROK relations remain broad.
