1937至1945年的澳門近代史與日本侵華及中國抗戰一樣，雖然都被充分地研究，然 而，中、葡及英文的研究卻甚少使用日本的資料。其實，在許多日本及其他語言的文獻中，提及 了大量有關此方面的信息，例如葡萄牙炮艇“里斯本若昂號”在戰爭時期航行、日軍佔領廣州 灣、美國“錯”炸澳門、1945 年2 月福井領事遇刺等。這些具體的事件雖然不在標準化的例證 之列，但作為該時期的歷史片段，也可為將來的研究人員提供文獻資料。除了美國、法國等地的 情報文件外，日本外交人員的回憶錄也是重要的信息來源。

The 1937-45 period in Macau’s modern history coincident with Japan’s invasion of China and (China’s) War of National Resistance is relatively understudied. Alongside Chinese, Portuguese, and English writings, very few attempts have been made to access Japanese sources. Part of a larger project on “Wartime Macau,” this paper seeks to problematize the writing of this history, with reference to some concrete examples that may have evaded standard enumerations and, especially, as a “literature” guide to future investigators and translators of this complex period. Besides American, French, and other intelligence reports, memoirs of Japniese diplomats are also important sources of information.
