A new word "beichugui", which means being outed, became popular in 2015 in China due to the "Quibai Event". Being outed of gay students can occur within teachers and students, and can also occur within students. This article collects 15 typical cases of being outed from media report, Q&A sites and qualitative research, analyses the personal interaction and institutional and cultural factors by doing interviews and content analysis, demonstrates the identity anxiety and school bullying that some Chinese gay students have to encounter, and proposes reflection and strategies. The author then provides suggestions: the lived experiences of gay students should be seen by the mainstream; teachers should promote their awareness of gender and sexual diversity; student administrating system should be reflected, and gay students should be provided with supporting and relief resources.
