This article described the nursing experience of caring a 56-year-old male with myasthenia gravis. During the nursing period from February 17th to March 12th, 2016, Gordon's eleven health function assessment tools were used to collect data through direct care, observation, documentation, physical assessment, and review of medical records. The identified health problem included ineffectiveness breathing patterns, nutrition needs less than the body requires, and powerlessness. Through active care, companionship, and listening, the nursing team establish a good relationship with the patient. Respiratory rehabilitation exercise was provided to improve respiratory ventilation and maintain oxygenation. High calorie and high protein diet were provided to maintain nutrition needs. Multidisciplinary team helped the patient and family face the discomfort of illness provided appropriate treatment and prevented recurrence, improved disease awareness, and provided day-to-day care to improve the quality of life.
