漢語擬聲詞在學界的歸類爭議不斷，其意義和句法的特殊性質可謂不言而喻。擬聲詞按音節數量可分為單音節、雙音節、三音節、四音節等小類，而在粵語各音節擬聲詞中，雙音節“AA”式擬聲詞的使用並不罕見。通過列舉並考析粵語中“AA”式擬聲詞加上“聲”的用例，即可從內部結構和語法功能探究這類短語的特點，辨別其與一般“AAB”式形容詞的異同，並從中獨立標示出“AA聲”式的功能用法。

According to the number of syllables, onomatopoeia words can be divided into single syllable, double syllables, three syllables, and four syllables. On the basis of relative contents, onomatopoeia words also can be divided into small categories about people, animals, nature, and objects. Among Cantonese onomatopoeias, the "AA" form is used frequently and specifically. By examining the cases of "AA" plus " 聲 " (sound) in Cantonese, we can investigate the characteristics of this type of phrases from the internal structure and grammatical functions.
