Apart from the Golden Horse Film Festival, which celebrated its 29th anniversary this year, the Taiwan International Women's Film Festival is the oldest nonprofit organization
film festival in Taiwan. After the 1987 crackdown, political, environmental, labour, peasant
and women Primary Colors, especially the Taiwanese women's movement, reached its peak
in the 1990s. The 1993 Taiwan Women's Film Festival -Women's visual arts exhibition was
launched, the establishment of Tainani National University of Arts audio-visual
documentary institute, and the opening of the documentary viewpoint channel on public
television, let more young generation of female film workers have the opportunity to
participate in the filming of documentaries. Later on, many people also stepped into the
filming of drama films and achieved impressive results. With the development of the
women's movement, created the budding and growth of the 1990s women's film festival.
