本文旨在利用成本函數的分析方法，對台灣農業的發展過程作一計量的分析，並比較農業技術結構在戰前與戰後的若干轉變。確切點說，其目的有三：(1)估計生產因素之代替彈性和價格彈性，並對技術的偏向及自發性投資率作一粗略的衡量；(2)測驗衍生自新古典生產函數的齊次性是否有效；和(3)比較戰前與戰後農業技術結構的變遷。
