The architecture design for an elementary school and the class schedules for their teachers and students are totally different from those of the higher education institution. Therefore, the planning of it s library building should pay special attention to the following points: 1. Site: It is suggested that the library should be near the classroom of upper grades, and should not locate in underground to avoid potential problems in ventilation, lighting and leaking. 2. Construction: If it is a new building, better to adopt the "hollow core slap" design for better space utilization so that no beam or column will be in the way; if it is reconstructed from classrooms, special care should be paid to the "bearing weight" and the "service life" of the classrooms to reduce possible safety problems. 3. Planning: Most of the elementary school libraries are one-personal library, and should be planned like that. In addition, the "reader area" and "working area" should be separated. 4. Security: There should be sufficient facilities to prevent from fire, water or power failure.
