This case report is concerned about the nursing care of the traumatic patient in his acute stage. The patient suffered from chest trauma with pneumothorax, respiratory distress, multiple trauma with massive bleeding led to circulation and perfusion insufficiency and multiple organ failure. Systemic infection was also noted. According to the goal of intensive nursing care, with fluid supplement, continuing monitoring of hemodynamics and medication, we could maintain the blood pressure, pulse rate, urine output, as well as tissue perfusion. After 96 days of intensive care in ICU, and the efforts of all members including the medical team, the patient and his family, the patient became stable and could be transferred to an ordinary ward. The main cause for recovery of this patient was continuous monitoring, nurse management, family support and cooperation of the medical team.
