　　　　　1890到1930年這段時間，拉丁美洲因出口農、礦產品而被整合進入世界資本主義體系。直到1929年經濟大恐慌開始產生蕭條效果時，拉丁美洲國家才完全放棄依賴出口整合的方式來獲得經濟成長。到了1960年代、1970年代，出口整合甚至被認為是造成經濟停滯的原因。同時期，頗有影響力的依賴理論的學者也提出「出口整合進入資本主義世界經濟儲系不可避免會激化勞工追求以社會主義為中心的革命運動」的看法。是故，本文選擇分析1930年以前發生在拉丁美洲的勞工運動來檢證上述命題。針對勞工運動的發生與發展，本文先歸納出數個涵蓋經濟、社會、政治層面的假設，然後就所擬的假設一一檢證，以彰顯即使結構變數相同，也因各國獨特的歷史脈絡而發展出不同軌道的勞工運動。

　　　　　In the period between 1890 and 1930, Latin America's integration into the capitalist world system was based on exporting agricultural and mineral goods. The contribution of export integration to economic growth did not lose its appeal to mostof Latin American governments until the Great Depression starting in the year of 1929. During the 1960s and 1970s export integration was even regarded as a causeof economic stagnation. At the same time, the popular dependency theorists also claimed that the export integration of a country into the world capitalist system would be inevitably followed by socialist-oriented labour radicalism. Hence, this paper chooses to examine the literature of the pre-1930 Latin American labour movements to contradict those widely-accepted views. It also develops five hypotheses with a special emphasis on social and political factors to assist the analysis of the rise of and the development of labour movements. Then it illustrates that the socio-historical contexts of individual societies lead their labour movements to different trajectories, though the set of structural variables that shape the formation of each society might be similar.
