本文的主要目的，是針對Jewett所提屸的五種體育課程價值取向：學科精熟取向、學習歷程取向、自我實現取向、社會重建取向與生態整合取向，從各取向之基本理念，以及持各取向之體育教師的角色特質，與對學生的角色期望等，進行陳述，其次是，綜覽Ennis有關體育教師價值取向的研究動向；最後，提出結論。
