In an era characterized by the rapid growth in science and technology, the information industry has become one important driving engine in Taiwan's economic development. However, it seems that Taiwan's information industry is too busy to pay mach attention to a serious structural changes occurring in the export and the important of information products. Guided by theories in international finance and international trade, this research uses econometric methods to analyze the import and the export of Taiwan's information industry. The study consists of two parts. First, a system of simultaneous equations on the demand and supply of Taiwan's information products are constructed and used to examine the characteristics of the industry. Second, a single equation model of Taiwan's demand for import of information products is constructed and tested.
