     俱樂部理論自1965年Buchanan發表其著名的The Economic Theory of Clubs為俱 樂部理論開創新局以來,大多數學者多延續其分析架構,以效用理論的觀點討論俱樂部的相 關問題。但效用理論卻存在著效用難以界定的問題。本文試圖從財貨提供的廠商觀點,以利 潤為其分析主幹,討論俱樂部在加入聯鎖經營的情況下,廠商的最適條件。俱樂部廠商的經 營對象,除了單一會員及非會員外,更包括享有更多權利的特別會員。而由此模型的推導以 及管理涵義的探討中,我們可獲得下列兩項結論: (一 ) 邊際收益等於邊際成本是俱樂部廠 商達到利潤極大的不二法則。(二 ) 價格敏感度是影響俱樂部廠商行銷資源配置的重要因素 。在利潤極大化的目標之下,俱樂部廠商無論在增加俱樂部財、或發動行銷攻勢,誘使顧客 增加使用次數時,只要其所對應產生邊際收益與其邊際成本相等;同時在分配其行銷資源時 ,依其特定目標顧客群的價格敏感度,調整顧客結構的比例將做最有效的配置,則俱樂部廠 商就可以達成其利潤極大的目標。
     Buchanan presented his well-known 'club theory' in 1965. Like Buchanan, most scholars have tried to analyze the problem of clubs from the utility perspective. Yet measuring levels of utility is difficult. This thesis presents an alternative to the utility perspective. It avoids the problem of measuring abstract utility by utilizing profit maximization to determine the optimal conditions of clubs. In this thesis, a chain-club model is constructed. Two conclusions are obtained from this reserch: (1) the necessary condition for maximizing profit is that marginal revenue equals marginal cost, and (2) price sensitivity is important in determining how to allocate marketing resources.
