     病人衛生教育越來越受到重視,因為很多研究均証實衛教育有助於病人健康之恢 復、促進醫囑之合作、縮短住院天數等。然而,不同年齡層的人有不同的學習方式,尤其是 老年病人因吸收和了解新事務的能力可能減退,造成學習的障礙,因而影響衛教的效果。基 於以上因素,但又希望對老年病人衛教育有最好的學習效果,筆者建議護理人員在提供衛教 時,能以成人教育理論作為衛教之指引,運用成人教育的四個原則於衛教上。在衛教技巧上 則須先評估老人視、聽力、思考能力和記憶力減退,對學習所造成的影響。衛教速度要慢、 教材字體夠大、對比顏色,使用具體、簡短語句,避免環境吵雜。衛教內容一次不要太多, 要有組織。使用教學輔助教材,允許重複學習,增強記憶。給予較多的時間,對於手術病人 ,手術前衛教可於住院前舉,使病人有足夠的時間學習衛教的內容。
