Burn wound sepsis still has a high mortality rate though the overall mortality has decreased due to the advancement of care. The mortality rate of septic shock varies from 20 to 60% depending on the timing of defection and management. Pseudumonas aeruginesa, staphylococcus aurers and E. coli. are the most common bacterial strains cultured. Early detection, adequate fluid resuscitation, aggressive debridment and antibiotic treatment based on a sensitivity test are vital in management of septic shock in burn patients. Some good nursing evaluation and management is necessary in reducting the incidence of septic shock and mortality rate in burn patients.
