This article examines how at the present stage academic libraries
manage electronic information resources. The article divides library services
into three functional areas: acquisition, organization and delivery, and
describes how the emergence of electronic materials is challenging the
traditional function of each area. The objective of the article is to address
issues, raise questions, provoke thinking, and to look at the changing approach
of library services, as libraries continue to proceed towards a more and more
electronic era.
