比較紅樓夢十種抄本，三種活字擺印本及兩種荊本之現傳影印本，以圖了解各種版本間的關係。從本文所討論的一些例子，可知十種抄本間的關係並不一定，某處此同值異但他處此異彼同。各本均是多次過錄的百衲本。「庚辰本」多漏抄、妄改處「甲辰本」中有刪節；「東觀閣本」訂訛正舛乃依據與現傳世抄本均不同的某版本。「有正本」與「蒙府本」也不見得屬於同源。

　　Comparative study on the reprints of fifteen. different versions of The Red Chamber Dream was carried out to elucidate the relation between one another. Preliminary results indicated that there was no definite relationship between ten existed handcopied versions. All of them were "mixtures" derived from different versions and had been re-copied for more than once. The "Geng-Chern" version （庚辰本） has many mistakes. The "Jiaa-Chern" version （甲辰本）　has several abridgements-o Some of the unique sentences in the "Dung-Guan-Ger" version （東觀閣本） were originated from a version not available today. The "Yoou-Jehng" version （蒙府本） and the "Merng-Fuu" version（有正本）might not be from the same original as usually' considered.
