This descriptive study examined the needs and the influential factors of parents towards children with cancer who were hospitalized. Forty-three parents, chosen from one medical center in metropolitan Taipei, Taiwan, participated in this study. After the children with cancer were admitted, the children's parents were interviewed by the researchers to complete the questionaire. The collected data were analyzed by descriptive analysis, wilcoxon rank sum test and kruskal-wallis test. There were two important findings in this study: First, the important needs of parents were related to "getting imformation", then "caring of social-psychology" and "physical care skill". Additionally, the factors of parents' "sex", "reIigion", " abtaining care information", and "haying relapse of children's disease or not" and "having metastasis of children's disease or not" influence the needs.
