     公車系統為都市大眾運輸的骨幹,近年來公車卻面臨乘客流失之危機,究其原因 ,乃係公車服務品質無法大幅改善,且個人運具又大幅成長之故。民眾所重視的服務品質不 外乎公車的旅行時間與可靠度,而其主要影響因素有號誌功能、乘客上下車服務、道路幾何 與交通狀況等, 雖專用道的設置可使公車免於混合車流( Mixed Flows )干擾,進而減少 其行車延滯,不過其功能卻明顯受到號誌功能影響,故於交叉路口處實施公車優先通行號誌 ,可提供一便捷的公車營運環境。然而,公車優先通行號誌在國內尚未廣泛應用,尤其是在 系統設計控制模式發展及控制參數設定等方面,尚待積極推動。本文乃針對現有的各種公車 優先通行號誌控制模式及其特性進行探討,分析各控制系統之應用範圍與特性,作為國內發 展公車優先通行號誌控制模式依據,提昇都市公車服務品質。
